Another great reason to be happy you upgraded your Windows Operating System.  Windows 7 users were not affected by the buggy anti-virus update pushed out by McAfee early Wednesday.  Click here if you have McAfee and Windows XP to read more and get your anti-virus fix.  Call or email VTech Direct if you need help with this.

Is it a full time job keeping up with your social networking contact databases? Microsoft and Linked In have just released a beta version to make your life a little simpler. Check out this article and with just two simple download and installations, you’ll be able to connect your Outlook and Linked in contacts with just a couple of clicks.

Now if some of the other social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Buzz would join in we would all have more time to work!

Google’s new social networking service announced earlier this week, “Google Buzz” uses data about those you frequently e-mail to automatically build a social network for you. In Google Buzz, your address book is your network, that is if you use gmail. Google Buzz is not yet available for Google Apps users but promises it is coming soon!

Google unveiled a new version of its mobile Google Maps application for Android phones and version 4.0 of Maps has Buzz firmly integrated into it. Maps offers layers such as Traffic and Latitude that adds new info to your map and now a new layer called Buzz. Now you can send a location-based Buzz directly from Maps.

Buzzard watching – a great way to find out who is using Google Buzz in your area. And, of course, be careful because each buzz includes a full address of where the more tech-savvy people are!

My new favorite shortcut in Windows 7 – If you click the Windows key and the Left Arrow key, your active window will instantly snap to the left side of the screen. Likewise, clicking the Windows key and the right arrow key will snap the active window to the right side of the screen. This really comes in handy if you use multiple monitors. When you’ve got that under control, click the windows key and the up arrow and voila, your active window is maximized. Give it a try!
